A musician goes to lead a festival on a scenic island, where he begins an unexpected romance and finds himself entwined in other people's problems.

Based on the best-selling English novel The Island by Victoria Hislop, the series takes place on the island of Spinalonga, off the coast of Crete, and in the village of Plaka which lies within swimming distance across it. The series premiered on 11 October 2010 to record ratings and critical acclaim. It is the most expensive Greek television production ever with a budget of €4 million.

Odysseas, lives in Athens, far from his family. The complicated relationship with his father, Lefteris, has led them to estrangement. However, when an unpleasant event forces Odysseasto return to Serres, everything begins to change. Thus, two strangers in the same house, in the same city, father and son, start from scratch to get to know each other. Having Chrysa by his side and Stamatina, Nancy and Thomas opposite him, Odysseas will help his father get back on his feet. Through moments of emotion and laughter, Odysseas and Lefteris will truly get to know each other, will love each other from the beginning and will reconcile with their differences, but also with loss. In a provincial town, with images from a Greece we all know, Odysseas and Lefteris discover that the world is more beautiful when we accept ourselves, and those around us, for who they really are.

The series is based on real events. It takes us to Kythera from 1906 to 1909 and chronicles one of the largest mass murders the country has ever known. There we meet the central figure of the story, Antonis, a peaceful shoemaker played by Panos Vlachos. A lovable young man, until he is unjustly slandered. The outcry of the local community forces him to leave. He makes a new start in Piraeus. Again, however, his attempt to escape falls on deaf ears. History repeats itself in the big city, filling Antonis with bitterness and anger. Now, there is only one way left for him: Revenge.

An unexpected event comes to disturb the seemingly calm life of a strong society. The tracks of a school bus are suddenly lost, one morning. Inside the bus are nine elementary school students, children of wealthy and powerful families, along with the driver and an attendant. Police investigations are moving in uncharted waters and everything shows that it has to do with a group abduction, but a young journalist unexpectedly finds himself at the center of events. An entire society is being shaken. A puzzle of suspects is formed, secret passions and intrigues are revealed. The masks fall and the hidden lives of the protagonists come to light. The story begins in Athens, with Chara Chaska, a single mother who works at an advertising agency. When her boyfriend and fellow co-worker steals her ideas for a campaign and gets promoted instead of her, she decides to leave her old life behind, quit her job and accept an inheritance (a house and a shop) at a remote village. As soon as she and her daughter reach the village in question, Kolokotronitsi (Κολοκοτρωνίτσι, presumably named after Theodoros Kolokotronis) located somewhere in Arcadia, they meet the mayor, Periandros Popotas (Περίανδρος Πώποτας), an old - fashioned person with a pathological hatred of everything "modern" who dislikes all "foreigners" who may disrupt the motto of the village "Order and Morality" (Τάξις και Ηθική). Having studied folk art and traditions in London, he lives with his son Emmanouil and with the family help of Tasia, but has a secret shady past of his own (he is pretending that his wife Penelope, a world-renowned opera singer has died, while in reality they have divorced - and he has blocked her from seeing their son ever since). Periandros has a sister, Stavroula, unhappily married to the village's cheating cafe owner, Vangelis. As soon as Chara comes to the village, opening a modern cafeteria (which she calls "To cafe tis Charas", literally "The cafe of joy", a pun on her name) and questioning many of the old - fashioned beliefs, the mayor turns everyone against her but sure enough, she soon manages to turn everybody round with her liberal and kind-hearted ways. The mayor is not unaffected and soon falls desperately in love with her. Among the secondary characters is Lefteris and Kanella, the village's bakers who have a long-running feud with the village's greengrocers, Tasos and Chaido over a fig tree (only to have their feud resolved when their children, Billy and Gogo get together and eventually marry), the village's priest Papa-Triantafyllos and his gossiping wife Marika and Ag

The series presents the life of Saint Paisios and his family and records his path to monasticism. The shooting took place in places where Saint Paisios lived, such as Konitsa and Mount Athos, Greece.

Based on the books of famous author Victoria Hislop, the series transports us to Crete and London, through 12 riveting, independent stories, starring Andreas Κonstantinou. Joseph, an introverted, Greek-born English archaeologist, is planning to propose to his girlfriend and has arranged a trip to his birthplace, Crete.
